As Williamson County moves into its new status as a high-dollar suburb, the path to successful property tax appeals is slowly changing. The ARB holds hearings in three-person panels, deciding between the evidence of the taxpayer and the Williamson Central Appraisal District(WCAD). In 2023, the board in Williamson had 16 members, which means there were enough personnel for five panels. Despite the massive growth of the county, there have only been 16 members since 2020, when it increased from 13. There were four new members in 2023, with 12 returning from previous years. There were 3,408 formal appeals filed, which translates into each trio seeing around 681 cases each.

Members of the ARB are each experts in appraisal and property taxes, so their time is valuable. Each member is paid from the same budget as WCAD is, albeit at a fraction of what the CAD gets. The highest paid members got $250 per day, the lowest $190 per day, and the median was $220. The entire payroll for the board in 2023 was $190,470, which is low for a major county in Texas.
