Williamson Tax Parcels

Despite having a reputation for being a suburban hub, Williamson County still has the expansive size of many rural Texas counties. With 264,900 parcels within its borders, the county has a total property value of $153.65 billion. This combination of size and value is quite the challenge for the Williamson Central Appraisal District(WCAD) to get a hold of, and this has led to many errors when it comes to property valuation and taxes.

The only way to correct these errors is with property tax appeals. No matter how you go about protecting your home or business, O’Connor is here to help. As one of the largest property tax consulting firms in the United States, O’Connor has the resources and knowledge to take on WCAD and win. Based in Texas, O’Connor also knows how appraisal districts think and this local insight can help land even greater tax cuts.

The 264,900 parcels in Williamson make it one of the larger counties in Texas, though not to the extent of huge counties like Hidalgo. Despite its size, WCAD was able to survey every parcel in the county. Considering how small WCAD’s roster of appraisers is, this is an impressive feat. However, with every appraiser having to assess roughly 7,692.31 parcels each, this overwork can easily lead to errors.

Williamson County - Total Market Value for All Property

Property values in Williamson County have been on an upward trajectory for over a decade, starting with $48.23 billion in combined value in 2014 before ballooning to $153.65 billion in 2023. Value reached its peak in 2022, with $155.23 billion, before a small, unexpected drop in 2023. With how the county has grown every year, the value is sure to be increasing again soon. This rapid rate of value growth puts Williamson ahead of that of most counties, though it still lags behind trailblazers like Travis and Collin counties.

The progenitor of the growth spike was single family homes. Starting with a combined total of $28.40 billion in 2014, residential values had increased to $92.84 billion by 2023. Homes tend to be the largest block of worth in Texas, so this is expected, especially in a suburban county. A combination of oil, gas, and utilities came in second with $27.25 billion. Commercial properties managed a total of $20.42 billion, while apartments were assessed at $13.15 billion. All property types have been on an upward trend, though homes are the most exaggerated.
